Which is why we developed our equine formula.
Is King Kalm CBD™ made from marijuana, will my pet get “high”?
Definitely not! Although CBD can be found in cannabis, we derive ours from the highest quality industrial hemp there is to offer. King Kalm CBD™ is a pure Cannabidiol product. There is less than 1% trace of THC so your pet cannot get high. King Kalm CBD™ was carefully formulated and researched by our on-staff Holistic Physician, Dr. Joseph Arena, then suspended and compounded by a licensed compounding pharmacist. CBD is the main active ingredient, and CBD is non-psychoactive and does not cause a “high.”

The passion that King Kanine and its staff possess for animals is truly unbeatable and is what puts us at the top of our craft; to cater to the most important needs of your, and our pets alike. How does this work for senior dogs and arthritis?
Lets first break down the word arthritis: arthro- refers to joint, and –itis refers to inflammation - together it translates to “joint inflammation.” CBD can be highly effective at reducing inflammation in general, but it happens to have a profound effect on the joints in particular, we believe this is due to the constant use and demand of the joints – especially in a quadrapedal animal like the canine.
I heard CBD can help to reduce seizures, is this true?
First, lets understand what a seizure is, simply put, a seizure is a moment in time where a part or parts of the brain go into overdrive, and there is increased neurological activity that causes different effects depending on the part of the body that of which that particular part of the brain controls. CBD has been shown to decrease neurological activity and for the most part, is said to mildly sedate the neurons of the brain – making for a preventative effort to control the activity of the brain, and when put on a therapeutically designed regimen it can allow you to wean off of synthetic and dangerous medications (of course, consult your physician before doing so).
CBD or Cannabidiol is one of over 80 cannabinoid compounds found in the cannabis/hemp plant. It is a completely natural, plant-based compound that is non-toxic, non-psychoactive, and does not produce a so-called “high.” CBD shows promise and continues to be the spotlight of many controlled studies and clinical trials in its use for conditions such as, but not limited to: seizures, pain, anxiety, cancer, chronic inflammation, a suppressed immune system and more.
How do I know my dog/cat needs it?
As mammals, all dogs, cats and humans have what is called an endocannabinoid system. This system contains receptors which when bound to create and modulate an immune system response that can have a profound effect on the nervous system and many common illnesses that plague both us and our furry family members. Therefore, CBD’s properties are great for preventative health measures, as well as a great way to enhance overall quality of life and health; however, simultaneously are very effective when treating inflammatory and neurological conditions that have already set in.
Can my dog/cat overdose?
No. CBD is a non-psychoactive and a non-toxic compound. What that means is it does not produce any inherently noticeable effects and if consumed in too great a quantity, the body will simply dispel any excess. With that said, please follow dosage guidelines on the packaging to avoid overuse and to cut down on your overall cost.
How often should/can they take it?
CBD has a half-life of about 3-5 days. What that means is after 3-5 days, only half of the compound is still present in the system. For instance, if you have a small dog and give them a 50mg dose on Monday, on Thursday there will be approximately 25mgs left active in their system. It is recommended to dose again at this time which will allow the compound to accumulate in the system and ultimately let you dose your animal less often, ideally once per week.
Does it work for dogs/cats as good as it does for people?
Yes!! As mammals, we all contain the same ability to utilize and benefit from CBD and its incredible effects.
What conditions is it most effective on?
What is great about this product is that by modulating the immune system it can aid in all aspects of health. With that said, modern medicine has been referring to CBD for its continuously positive effects on conditions such as, epilepsy (seizures of all kinds), pain, anxiety, cancer, and both local and general inflammation.
Other recommended uses for King Kalm CBD™ include: seizure control, arthritis, nausea, and loss of appetite.
How do I use it?
We designed this product one for its effectiveness and two for its ease of use. Simply place the oral syringe into the cheek pocket of your animal, as far as they’ll allow you, and push the plunger. Fish oil being the medium, dogs and cats instinctively love it!! If your animal does not prefer to have it administered this way, simply squirt it over their food and mix in!!
Why an oral syringe?
After years of formulation and sourcing the very best ingredients, we wanted to test the easiest ways to deliver this product to pets worldwide, and a way that can be used if you decide not to mix into your pet’s food.
Can this help my dog with hip dysplasia?
Yes! In dogs, hip dysplasia is an abnormal formation of the hip socket. In its more severe form, this condition can eventually cause crippling lameness and painful arthritis of the hip joints. This condition can be genetically predisposed by breed; however can be greatly affected by environmental factors. King Kalm Hip and Joint formula was of course made for all inflammatory joint conditions, hip dysplasia eventually sets in to arthritic conditions and CBD has shown to have great effects at reducing joint inflammation AND boosting the immune system – giving a compounding effect.
Once I start CBD therapy, do I have to always give it to them?
Ask yourself this; once you decide to eat healthy, do you have to continue eating healthy in order to gain the benefits from the nutrients and vitamins found in that food? The answer is yes. This is a lifestyle change and like all other lifestyle changes, they must be consistent in order to achieve the best results, but there are no greater results to be had than those of our health and the health of our furry family members!! With that said, administering as little or as often as you can afford to or allow yourself to provide this, for your child (animal) you will gain the respective benefits.
